GOITSCHEL SPORT,
a family-owned group

Our mission

Goitschel Sport is a family-owned group whose aim is to pass on its enthusiasm for the mountains and winter sports by upholding its expertise in customer care.

Christine Goitschel and Jean Béranger, the people who pioneered Val Thorens in 1969, decided to take on a challenge that nobody had ever tried at the time: living at an altitude of 2,300 metres in the middle of the pristine white mountains. In 1971, they opened the first sports store in the resort. Today, the group has 11 stores and boutiques as well as five workshops.

Inspired by their love of the mountains, the group has built a benchmark image for themselves in this sector thanks to their commitment to winter sports brands and the various companies in the resort. These long-lasting partnerships are a guarantee of how much our clients and employees trust in us, and have enabled us to consolidate our status as professional mountain experts. The group now has over 70 employees and an annual turnover of 8 million euros.

This image is based on the group's identity and our reputation of quality customer service teamed with the quality and the selection of products we offer. To maintain such excellence, the group relies on a continual reassessment of customer needs as well as the analysis of innovations and trends in the market. In addition, the strategic choice of locations in Val Thorens means the resort's customers can find a Goitschel Sport experience close to anywhere they are staying. This model is the basis for the perennial excellence of our services, from getting skiers ready to the choice of products, and this has held true for the generations of sportspeople who have put their faith in us.
